Work clubs and IT clubs in Southampton

Did you know the council (along help from Lovell) supports work clubs and IT clubs across the city?

All Work Clubs provide help with CVs, job searches, etc.

The IT Clubs are aimed at people with no, basic or improving IT skills. They are both for people wanting help to improve their IT skills, as well as help with one off specific queries such as how to use email, social media, comparison websites, shop online, do things with photos, apply for benefits and school places and use Universal JobMatch. Residents can use the computers provided or bring their own devices.

All the work and IT clubs are open to anyone who wants to drop in for some advice (no appointments necessary).

MUSIC IN THE CITY - IN UNUSUAL PLACES: FREE EVENTS

On 4 & 5 October, Music in the City will celebrate the wonderful diversity of musical talent from the Solent Area.

From Rock to Jazz, Classical to Bebop, Folk to Blues - from 800 year old vaults to the beautiful art deco City Art Gallery, from the Guildhall Square to the SS Shieldhall, the Sounds and Settings are second to none!

All of the musical delights are FREE and take place in some of the city’s most quirky venues such as the city’s vaults. the vaults are normally only open for guided tours - On 4 October you will be able to view our historic city in all its glory and be entertained along the way - an event not to be missed.

This covers the cost of Carolyn coming over from Portsmouth, resources and room hire

HAPPY ROSH HASHANA (Jewish New Year) TO ALL WHO OBSERVE IT!

Many Jewish people in the United Kingdom (UK) celebrate Rosh Hashana (or Rosh Hashanah), which is also known as the Jewish New Year festival and commemorates the creation of the world. It lasts 2 days.

Starts at sunset tonight (24th) and finishes at nightfall on 26th September

The traditional greeting between Jews is “L’shanah tovah” … “for a good New Year”.
