Award in Community Development
City and Guilds Level 2 / 3
Are you involved in volunteer or paid community development work? This is a chance to gain a recognised qualification.
The course is suitable both for people who are volunteers or who are just starting out in a community development role, leading to a Level 2 Award, or, following initial assessment, there is the possibility of working for the Level 3 award. The Level 3 is suitable to people with existing experience as a community development worker.
The course will cover: what Community Development is, what its values are, and how to approach working as community development worker/volunteer. Also covered are why people get involved in their community, how to encourage them, and how community groups work. It will also explore social inequality and diversity in communities.
Six Friday sessions on: 24th and 31st Jan; 28th Feb; 7th, 21st and 28th March 2014. Session times: 9.45am – 2.45pm.

Volunteers with income less than £12,000 £45
Volunteers with income £12,000 to £18,000 £90
Full fee (paid workers or those with income over £18,000) £180
Note, a supplement of £25 will apply for people who register for the Level 3 Award.
