VOLUNTEERS NEEDED, THE ART HOUSE:

The Art House need more volunteers:

Here are some things you may not know about volunteering at The Art House:

* You don’t need experience, training is given. All you need is an enthusiasm for what we do and a willingness to show up, learn and be part of a wondrous crew of splendour!

* Our crew are all ages - from 14 to 82!

* You don’t have to be veggie, vegan or in any way a hippie type person to fit in here - our crew is a varied group and you’re sure to find likeminded chums!

* You can volunteer regular shifts, or ad hoc to suit your schedule.

* We need crew in the cafe, kitchen and from March we’ll be doing a big old search for admin pixies, too. There are lots of different ways to get involved.

* You can volunteer once a week or once a month, or somewhere in between, whatever suits you best.

* You can volunteer at a variety of times, we are open Tuesday - Sunday, daytimes and evenings.

* Shifts vary in length from 2 hours to 6 hours.

So, if this sounds like something you may want to do, please click here to find out more and request an application form:

Solent Showcase gallery in Sir James Matthews building
by Guildhall Square

Are you concerned about money and how it impacts on local communities? Do you want to see a fairer and more sustainable society? Do you care about the Southampton economy and local people being at the heart of change?

Positive Money and Bristol Pound will be coming to Southampton on Wednesday 1 October to talk about these issues. They will be discussing financial debt, inequality and ways to keep money circulating within our city rather than being leaked elsewhere.

The event also includes a ‘Pound Podium’ where local people involved in projects to tackle financial inequality and innovative approaches to money will have a chance to share their news and views. The event will be chaired by Bernard Carré.

This event is being brought to the city by the community network Dangerous Ideas Southampton in partnership with Solent Showcase gallery at Southampton Solent University’s Sir James Matthews Building next to Guildhall Square.
The event is free and everyone is welcome.
